The Marathi voice that came together in the battle of Sanyukta Maharashtra was somewhat dispersed after the establishment of the state of Maharashtra. Prabodhankar Thackeray's son, cartoonist Bal Thackeray, from the weekly based on the cartoon based on Marmik, which started around the same time on the pretext that 105 people were martyred in Mumbai and Maharashtra, due to the increase in the number of foreigners, is a contempt of Marathi people. Knowing the depths of his mind, he undertook the task of exposing the injustice done to the Marathi people with the stroke of his brush. Seeing the overwhelming response of the people to this work of Balasaheb, Shiv Sena was formed on 19th June, 1966 with the idea that there should be an organization fighting for the just rights of Bhumiputras.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an adored deity of Shiv Sena and a devotee of Maharaj Bhavani Mata. Balasaheb himself realized the symbol of Shiv Sena, the tiger which is the vehicle of mother Bhavani. The first meeting of Shiv Sena was organized on 30th October, 1966 on Shivatirtha. Today, Shiv Sena, which is a whirlwind of intense Hindutva and has a human mind, is maintaining its place in the minds of the masses by making uninterrupted progress under the leadership of Pannashi Palyad party chief Uddhav Saheb Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray.
